Emerging & Developing countries (particularly BRICS countries) are now the primary engine of global growth, contributing 70%+ of incremental world GDP since 2010. By 2030, Asia alone is estimated to represent 50% of global GDP. Infrastructure is fundamental to the economic transformation of emerging and developing markets (EMDEs). Infrastructure is the foundation of growth and rewires economies to compete globally. Modern infrastructure is not just ports and highways, but also energy, logistics and telecommunications (data centre and fibre optic networks etc).
Infrastructure offers inflation-linked returns and long-term yields which are crucial in today’s volatile markets. EMDEs (particularly in Asia) will have ample opportunities in infrastructure that deserves wealth allocations. It is anticipated that the next decade will require over USD 200 billion of green financing for sustainable infrastructure. Our group’s head office, locates in Hong Kong, has the unique advantages to access to this golden opportunity of investment as part of our wealth allocations.
