Acquisition of Prime Focus – March 2013
Genius Link Group and its affiliates led the first round of private equity investment in Prime Focus for USD 10 million in March 2013, and subsequently created Prime Focus China, a joint venture with focusing on the rapidly growing China market. After our investment, we assisted Prime Focus in subsequent rounds of investment raising over USD 60 million and the acquisition of Double Negative, a world-renowned Oscar winning special effect film production company in United Kingdom.
Prime Focus was the world’s largest 2D to 3D content conversion service provider and leading visual effects service provider, with landmark projects including, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Ant-Man, Gravity and Interstellar.
